The follow up to Zeppelins debut, Led Zeppelin II was released in 1969, many consider this just as good, if not better, than Zeppelin IV. Featuring some of their greatest hits, such as "Whole Lotta Love (which features one of the most recognizable guitar riffs in all of rock) and "Heartbreaker", Zeppelin II was an instant success. It's definitely my favorite Zep album, and easily one of the greatest in the history of rock. This is Zeppelin at their best.

1.Whole Lotta Love- Im pretty sure everyone's heard this song at least once and if not, wow. Page's guitar work on here is amazing. The solo may be short but its sweet, and as always Plant's howling vocals are solid. 10 out of 10

2. What Is and What Should Never Be- A real breather from the previous song, this is a rather slow track, but nevertheless it shows how great of a songwriter Plant truly was. Good guitar work, and a nice bass line by John-Paul-Jones. 8 out of 10

3. The Lemon Song- Before buying this CD, I'd never heard this song, but now I don't see why it doesn't receive radio time. It just all around kicks ass. 10 out of 10.

4. Thank You- Probably my least favorite song on the album, although its still good. 7 out of 10

5. Heartbreaker- One of the best tracks on here. Excellent guitar riff by Page, great lyrics by Plant, a driving bass line and Bonham's drumming, like always, is solid. Page's solo kicks ass, its just more proof he's one of the greatest guitarists of all time. One of my favorite Zep songs ever, its an all-around great song. 10 out of 10

6. Living Loving Maid (She's Just a Woman)- If it wasn't for the slight break between songs, you'd think this was still Heartbreaker, as it flows PERFECTLY from the previous song. Bonham's drumming really shines though on this one. My only gripe is its short compared to the other songs, but that really doesn't take anything away from it. 8 out of 10

7. Ramble On- Partly acoustic, Ramble On starts off somewhat slow but speeds up and becomes louder in the chorus. Jone's bass work is great on here. Unlike most Zeppelin songs, Ramble On never really develops, it stays pretty much the same throughout the entire song. 8 out of 10

8. Moby Dick- Starts off with a good guitar riff and drumming, then the bass kicks in, going along with Bonham's drumming. After a minute or so the guitar and bass stop, and Bonham kicks into a 3 minute drum solo. This solo flat out kicks ass. Bonham is one of the greatest drummers of all time.  I've heard it's even better live, which is saying a lot as its amazing on here. 9 out of 10

9. Bring It On Home- This shows off Zeppelins bluesy side well. Nice guitar riff. good harmonica parts, speeds up near the middle after a good intro. Great closer. 8 out of 10

Overall (not an average) 9 out of 10

This CD just flat out rocks. If your into classic rock, you'll like this album. If your into blues, you'll like this album. If your into hard rock/ heavy metal, you'll like this album. If your into country, you'll (most likely) like this album. Led Zeppelin II is a classic, and one of the best rock CD's ever recorded.
